Ozempic is supplied in single-patient-use pens:
- 2 mg/1.5 mL (1.34 mg/mL): delivers 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, or 1 mg per injection
- 4 mg/3 mL(1.34 mg/mL): delivers 1 mg per injection

Starting dose: 0.25 mg injected subcutaneously into the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm once weekly. Ozempic can be administered with or without food. After 4 weeks, your dose may be increased to 0.5 mg once weekly. Your doctor may choose to increase your dose to 1 mg once weekly depending on your tolerance and response to the medication.
You should rotate your Injection sites each week.
If you miss your dose, you may administer it within 5 days of the missed dose.
Unused Ozempic pens without an attached needle may be stored in the refrigerator until the expiration date. Used Ozempic pens without an attached needle may be stored at room temperature or in the refrigerator until the expiration date or for 56 days, whichever occurs first. Ozempic pens should not be stored in the freezer.
Use a new needle for each injection. An Ozempic pen should never be shared, even if it has a new needle. After each injection, dispose of used needles in a sharps disposal container.
